Regain Your Computer Space

There are many ways to regain computer space by checking through your folders for PSP and fixing them
up. I will show you some of the ways I have found to do this.
I keep all my tubes either in PSP or Tub format in a folder I have created on my c drive
and not inside my Paint Shop Pro. This allows PSP to load faster, plus, if PSP ever crashes you will
not lose all the tubes that you have so patiently collected over time. However some tubes can come to
you in different formats such as PSD format from photoshop users or you could have, by mistake, put
some jpegs into your tube folder.
1. : So, to check for tubes that are not in correct..or large format, first have PSP open then go
to your Start at bottom right of your screen and open it, go to Find..find Files or Folders.
2. Click on Find Files or Folders to open it and where it says Named: type in PSD,
where it says look in: browse to your tube folder and have subfolders checked and it should look like this.
3. Run find now..and hopefully it will come back to you as no files found. If not, you may see that
you have a lot in this format, as I have.
4. Now, the first line says in my tube folder under the subcatagory owls, I have a PSD format
called "Wayne Anderson-Nightcap Sm~CW.PSD" This is where PSP is used. In PSP go File, browse
to open your browser, and browse to your folder this is kept in. I found it..and circled it in
red to show you the thumbnail of it.
5. Click on the thumbnail to highlight it and you will see this information on it. See how it
says its taking 638.0 KB of space? That is huge.
6. Now double click on it to open it onto your PSP workspace, and go file..Save Copy AS..and browse
to put it back into same folder and okay
7. Now you will see it there in your thumbnails and look just how small it saved to, its now
315.6 KB and size and clarity are identical to the PSD format!
8. Now just delete the PSD format tube to your recycle bin and you just regained 322.4 KB of
space on your computer. Do this to all the PSD's listed from your Find Search and you will get
tons of space back! You should end up having your Find look like this. Have fun.
9. You can also check to make sure there are nothing misfiled at this point by replacing the
PSD with JPG then BMP to see if you have a graphic in the tube folder by mistake. If you do, just
go through PSP File, Browse and move it to your correct folder and take a break, you just regained
space and deserve a break. From here go to my tutorial on removing psp browse files.
