Required for this tutorial:

Download trial version of Jasc's PSP 7
A graphic that you like, this cat graphic is adorable.Just right click and save.

I am not sure who is the artist is, if anyone can tell me, I can give credit to the artist.

Lets get started :-)

1.  First open your graphic and copy it (shift D) so you are not working with the original, in case you want to use it again. Then minimize the copy on your workspace. (click on the _ at top left corner of the copy graphic.) Then on your toolbar at top, go to FILE, NEW, and drop down box will open and make image dimensions width 400, and height 300, and background colour transparent, image type 16.7 million colours (24 bit) and click okay. Now you will have a transparent image sitting on your PSP workspace. Now, go to FILE, SAVE, where it says file name call it what you want to name it, for now..save as type: Paint SHop Pro Image, Save in: a folder you will find this again and okay.

2.  Click on your SELECTION TOOL, (looks like a dotted rectangle on the left side of your psp) and a toggle box will open on your workspace. Set the selection type to rectangle (you can do this by clicking the browse triangle beside the preview window) and set feather to 0, and antialias to have a check in it.

3.  Near the left side of image, Left click and hold down mouse key, drag to the right and downwards to draw out your rectangle and you should see a rectangle selected (in ants as we call them) on your image. Go FILE, SAVE. (this time you will not see any box open, it will just save new changes)

4.  On your COLOUR PALETTE at the right side of your psp workspace, set your top STYLE (also called foreground or stroke) box to red, the second style box (also called background or fill) box can be any colour.

5.  On the left toolbar, select the FLOODFILL icon (looks like a paintcan pouring) and toggle box will open, settings are:
match mode: RGB Value, tolerance=200, opacity=100, sample merged unchecked.

6.  Go to your image with the ants and left click inside the ants to floodfill your image. The ants will still be marching. Go FILE, SAVE.

7.  At top toolbar, click on EFFECTS, then TEXTURE EFFECTS and then WEAVE, and a drop box will open.
Set the gap size and width to 10, opacity 100, click on the weave colour box and set it to red (html#FF4040) and okay. Then click on the gap colour box and set it to white (html#FFFFFF) and okay fill gaps checked and okay

Now your image should look like this, still inside ants. Go FILE, SAVE.

8.  Go to the top taskbar and click on EFFECTS, 3D EFFECTS, INNER BEVEL and this toolbox will open and set your inner bevel as follows:
bevel shape: looks like 1/4 wedge sitting on a base, width=12, smoothness=16, depth=4, ambience=0, shininess=0, light colour=white, angle=315, intensity=50, elevation=30, then click okay

9.  Go up to taskbar to SELECTIONS, and SELECT NONE and ants will dissappear.Go FILE, SAVE.

10.  Then on taskbar go to LAYERS, NEW RASTER LAYER and okay. Go FILE, SAVE.

11.  Now go back to your SELECTION TOOL (the dotted rectangle icon) and draw out another rectangle on your image..start from the top left corner of your checkerboxed rectangle and drag it out and downwards and stop when you get near the center of the checkerboxed rectangle. (I drew out the ants in yellow so you can see them.) Go FILE, SAVE.

12.  Bring up your minimized copy of your graphic by clicking on the double boxes icon at the right side of the minimized pic. This will make this the "Active" image as you will see the border in green, while your checkerbox image has red border. Now go to EDIT, COPY and minimize your graphic again.

13.  Now you will see your checkerbox image is active again..as its in green border, so go to EDIT..PASTE INTO SELECTION and your graphic will show up in your anted rectangle. Go FILE, SAVE.

14.  Go to toolbar and to SELECTIONS, and SELECT NONE to kill ants and then go to LAYERS, NEW RASTER LAYER and okay. Go FILE, SAVE.

15.  Go to your COLOUR PALETTE and make your style boxes either the same colour or different colours as long as they are not white or red. For example I made my top style box black and my bottom style box pink.

16.  Now click on your text icon (looks like the letter A on left side toolbar) and a toggle box will open on your workspace. Set line width=1 and line style should show you a solid line, if not, browse to single solid line.

17.  Left click anywhere on your image and your text box will open. In Name: pick a font you would like to use, size: 36 (this may be higher or lower depending on font on your image), enter text here: type out your name, where it says create as..have checks in the boxes that say, floating and antialias and okay.

18.  Now you will see your text "floating" on your image.

19.  Use your mover icon (looks like 4 pointed arrow) to move your text to where you want it. Go FILE, SAVE.

20.  ALMOST DONE!!! Apply a drop shadow. Go to EFFECTS, 3D EFFECTS, DROP SHADOW and use these settings:
vertical and horizontal=2, Opacity=100, and Blur=5, colour=black and okay. Go FILE, SAVE.

21.  Go to SELECTIONS, SELECT NONE, then go to LAYERS, MERGE ALL, FLATTEN.

22.  Select your crop icon, (looks like broken square with line through it, fourth icon down from the top on the left toolbar) and click on your white background near the top left side of your tag and hold mouse key down..drag it to the right and down so your tag is inside the crop box on your image. If not correct, just right click on image and the crop box will dissappear and try again. If happy with crop box around your tag on image, double click with left mouse key inside the crop box and your excess background will be cut away. Go FILE, SAVE.

23.  Go to IMAGE, RESIZE and resize image so is no larger than 300 pixels on the wide side. Make sure ratio box is checked. Since we already only on one layer, you don't have to worry if resize all layers is checked or unchecked..and okay

24.  Now go EFFECTS..SHARPEN, SHARPEN

25.  Finally!! (bet you thought we would never get through this!) Go to FILE, SAVE AS, and when save as box opens...save in a folder you want to keep your tag in, give it a name, save it this time in JPEG-JFIF Compliant(*.jpg, *.jpeg) format and you are DONE!!!

Congratulations! I hope you had fun making this tag. Here is my finished result
