Required for this tutorial:

Paint Shop Pro Download trial version of Jasc's PSP 7

Any fancy script font you like, (optional)

Any tubes to decorate (optional)

I remember as a kid having beaded headbands and bracklets and this reminds me of it. This is also how you can "pearl" your tags by just using one strand and playing with your colours and bevels.
Lets get started :-)

1.  Open a new transparent image, 600 by 400

2.  This step is optional, you can do this or go directly to step 3. Find a fancy script font you like and use it as a template. Set style boxes both to black and apply your font, size to fit image (may need to be 175 in size)

3.  Add a new raster layer.

4.  Set foreground style box to any solid colour, I used HTML#EAEBA9 and set your paintbrush toggle box to: shape=round size=10 hardness, opacity, step and density to 100, buildup=checked

5.  Now left click on your image and hold mouse key down and write out your name freehand...or follow the lines of your font you placed down first as template if you did that. Add flourishes and swirls to your name..make it fancy. :-)

6.  Go to your layer palette and make your layer 1 active, (this is the bottom layer, either blank or with your font on it.) Flood fill this layer with black so you can see better for now.

7.  Make layer 2 (this where you have your beaded name) active and apply inner bevel with these settings:

8.  Go to your layer palette and duplicate this font layer 5 times then null all the duplicated layers.

To make this easier...rename these layers 3 to 7.

9.  Make layer 2 active...then go to colors, colourize, and settings are hue=0, saturation=255 and okay

10.  Leave layer 3 alone, it will stay this colour we started with.

11.  Then make layer 4 active, then go to colors, colourize, and settings are hue=35, saturation=255 and okay

12.  Then make layer5 active, then go to colors, colourize, and settings are hue=78, saturation=255 and okay

13.  Then make layer 6 active, then go to colors, colourize, and settings are hue=155, saturation=255 and okay

14.  Then make layer 7 active, then go to colors, colourize, and settings are hue=230, saturation=255 and okay 15.  Now to organize the layers...null all but layer 2, then unnull layer 3. With mover tool, move name up and over to the left slightly so beads ontop of layer 2 beads like this...

16.  Now unnull layer 4 and move it so its up and over to the left slightly from layer 3. Repeat until you have moved layer 7. Now it looks like this...

17.  Your done! Now you can add any tubes to it or just leave it as it is. If you want a different background than black, flood fill bottom layer with any other colour, merge all layers flatten, and save in jpg format. Crop excess background off tag and resize it to 350 pixels at the widest side and remember, if resizing to go to effects,sharpen..sharpen.

I hope you enjoyed and and fun making this Beaded Nametag.
Here is my finished tag.
